ALBANY – In response to the proclamation released by Governor David Paterson today laying out the legislative agenda for tomorrow's special Senate session, Senator Eric T. Schneiderman (D-Manhattan/Bronx) praised the Governor for including critical issues like marriage equality, green jobs, the farmworkers’ bill of rights, and protections for homeowners facing foreclosure and tenants living in properties facing foreclosure.
“The Governor did the right thing by putting critical legislative priorities on tomorrow’s agenda, including marriage equality, the green jobs bill and the farmworkers’ bill of rights. I applaud Governor Paterson for setting a progressive agenda that reflects the values of our state, and I hope he will continue to include issues like real rent reform and the Crime Gun Identification Act in subsequent sessions,” said Sen. Schneiderman. “These issues deserve a fair vote on the Senate floor. The people of New York cannot afford to wait any longer.”
