ADDABBO TO DO

OFFICE HOURS IN LOCAL LIBRARIES

In an effort to discuss issues with more constituents and to highlight the importance of libraries, Senator Joseph Addabbo will be holding office hours on Saturdays in local libraries throughout his district. "Many of my constituents might be unable to stop in my district office Monday through Friday. The time I am spending at our local libraries gives them an opportunity to see me in their community on the weekend and for me to personally address their concerns. I will also be speaking about the importance of library funding and of its significance in our neighborhoods." Addabbo said.

The current schedule is as follows:

Saturday, September 26 at the Maspeth Library, 69-70 Grand Avenue

Saturday, October 3 at the Middle Village Library, 72-31 Metropolitan Avenue

Saturday, October 19 at the North Forest Park Library, 98-27 Metropolitan Avenue

All times are from 11am to 1pm

The senator intends to continue to hold Saturday office hours in libraries in the district until the end of the year. Additional dates and libraries will be determined shortly according to Addabbo’s office.

"I am thankful for the fine working relationship I have had with Queens Library and their Director Tom Galante over the years. Tom has been most helpful to me as I schedule these library appearances to increase accessibility to my constituents and I look forward to working with Queens Library in the future." Addabbo concluded.

Tom Galante, CEO and Director of Queens Library stated, "Queens Library is proud to provide our customers with first rate customer service in a variety of ways. As part of our efforts to provide much needed information to our customers, we are proud to partner with State Senator Joseph Addabbo, Jr. in making neighborhood libraries in his district available for temporary office hours. Senator Addabbo has been an advocate of the Queens Library and we welcome the opportunity to bring libraries and library users closer to the government that serves them. "

Addabbo also noted that his library visits are not to replace his intention of opening a second office in the northern part of his district. Addabbo mentioned that the state is currently negotiating with the landlords on three proposed sites and he is optimistic that a decision on a second office would come soon.
