ADDABBO AND AMERICAN ITALIAN CANCER FOUNDATION
 TO SPONSOR NO-COST MAMMOGRAMS

 Noting that early detection of breast cancer can save lives State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. announced that on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 a Mobile Mammography Van will be at Community Board 6, 73-05 Yellowstone Blvd, Forest Hills. Senator Addabbo and the American Italian Cancer Foundation will be sponsoring no cost mammograms.  An appointment is necessary.  Call 1-800-453-8378 Ext. 1 Mammography services will be provided by Multi-Diagnostic Services, Inc. (MDS). Eligibility criteria – Women 40 or older – no mammogram in the past 12 months.  On the day of the visit it is recommended that women wear a two-piece outfit, do not use any oil, powder, deodorant or perfume.  If you have Medicare, Medicaid or other health insurance, please bring your card with you.  Uninsured women will be covered by the New York State Cancer Services Program.
Your results will be sent to you and/or your doctor within 10 business days.  If you would like the results sent to your doctor, please provide MDS with his or her full name or address.
Comparison radiological studies are important.  If you provide MDS with previous mammogram films, this comparison will be preformed.  In some cases, it can eliminate the need for additional testing.  For more information call Senator Addabbo’s Office, 718-738-1111.
