SENATOR PRESENTS CAPITAL FUNDING SUPPORT TO YOUTH CULTURAL ARTS PROGRAM
State Senator Parker Presents $100,000 check to Youth Cultural Center Upgrades
Brooklyn, NY - State Senator Kevin Parker presented a $100,000 check this past Saturday, December 19, 2009 to Ifetayo Cultural Arts Center. This generous contribution will be used to revamp the facility and the centers space to accommodate more classrooms.
“This funding will help make a bigger and better Cultural Arts Center and help construct a state of the art facility in Brooklyn to keep our children active and safe from the streets, said Senator Parker. This organization is great to have in my district and it shows that were serious about the arts and its culture and the creative industries.”
Ifetayo, Incorporated is an arts and cultural organization dedicated to supporting the creative, educational and vocational development of youth and families of African descent. The organization strives to enhance the lives of youth by providing programs in cultural awareness, performing and visual arts, as well as academic instruction, health and wellness, and professional skills development. In addition, they provide social services to students and their families either directly or through referrals to strategic partners.
