Senator Golden Announces Annual Senior Fair

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) is announcing his upcoming 7th Annual series of three senior fairs to be held throughout his district, to offer local seniors and their families an opportunity to learn of the services available to assist them with their property taxes, their prescription drug coverage, their personal safety, and their health.
The upcoming three senior fairs are scheduled as follows:
Thursday, May 28, 2008, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
St. Patrick’s School Auditorium at 9511-4th Avenue (corner of 97th Street)
Friday, May 29, 2009, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
St. Columba Church located at 2245 Kimball Street
Friday, June 5, 2009, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Most Precious Blood at 70 Bay 47th Street
The senior fairs will feature information and assistance offered by various City agencies including: A.A.R.P., the Department for the Aging, the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Sanitation, the Department of Health, the Department of Parks, the New York City Police Department and New York City Fire Department.
Additionally, the Medicare Rights Center, the EPIC Program, the Metro Card Mobile Sales unit and senior service agencies will be attending. Free blood pressure screenings will also be available and lunch will be served.
Senator Golden stated, "I am looking forward to my upcoming senior fair which will be an enjoyable and informative afternoon for all who attend. May is "Older Americans Month", and so this is a time for us to gather as a community and learn about programs and services available to assist senior citizens age with independence, dignity and choice."
