Statement From Senator Michael Nozzolio

Over the last month we waged a valiant fight for the taxpayers of our State, especially for those in Upstate New York.

The purpose for establishing the bipartisan coalition was to achieve genuine reform of our government, and put New York State back on the right track.

Because of our coalition’s efforts, the Senate has adopted historic rules changes that will create a more open, bipartisan, transparent and member-driven body and empower individual Senators instead of concentrating all power in the hands of the leadership.

We remain dedicated to reversing the terrible tax and spending binge created by Governor Paterson and the New York City democrats who control the State Senate.

We must continue the fight to relieve the overburdened taxpayers of our state, reduce state spending, restore the STAR property tax rebate program, and make New York State a better place to live, work, raise a family and enjoy retirement.
