New York State Association of Counties Meeting in Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs- Senator Roy McDonald addressed the attendees of the New York State Association of Counties at a formal luncheon for their Fall seminar. McDonald also participated in the Standing Committee Meeting on Children with Special Needs during the week long conference.

He was joined by County Legislators from both Rensselaer and Saratoga Counties, including host committee members: Chairperson and Edinburg Supervisor Jean Raymond, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and Wilton Supervisor Art Johnson, Town of Charlton Supervisor Alan Grattidge, Town of Clifton Park Supervisor Anita Daly, and Town of Greenfield Supervisor Dick Rowland. Also in attendance was Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino.

McDonald discussed the important relationships that exist between counties from across the state and the Legislative and Executive branches in Albany. Additionally, he touched on the New York State Budget and it's affect on county taxpayers.

“The NYSAC is a great organization and these seminars are a way for local county officials to learn new ways to better serve their public. I was proud to discuss with these great local officials on the issues of the State budget and unfunded mandates, which are impractical and costly to Upstate New York communities and taxpayers” said McDonald.

McDonald has long been active in the NYSAC dating back to when he was a Town and County Supervisor for the Town of Wilton, along with serving as the Chairman of the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors.
