Veterans Voices Summit This Weekend

Troy –November 4, 2009 - Senator Roy McDonald would like to invite all Rensselaer County Veterans and their families to a “Veterans Voices” summit this weekend November 6th and 7th. The summit will work to help shape services for the future, and will be put on in collaboration with the Commission on Economic Opportunity for the Greater Capital Region, the Rensselaer County Veterans Service Agency and the Veterans of Lansingburgh.
The Rensselaer County Veterans’ Voices Summit will be held on November 6th and 7th and will provide multiple opportunities for Veterans and their family members to participate. Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans and their family members are invited Saturday, November 7th from 10am to 12pm. All Veterans and family members are invited to attend either Friday, November 6th from 6pm to 8pm or Saturday, November 7th from 1pm to 3pm. Groups will be limited to 15 to 20 persons each, and all information gathered will remain anonymous. The Summit will be held at the Commission on Economic Opportunity, at 2328 Fifth Avenue in Troy.
“This summit will provide Rensselaer County Veterans and their families an opportunity to let our local organizations and agencies know what types of services need to be improved or what needs to be provided so that they receive adequate help and assistance for their service and patriotism” said McDonald.
