The New York State Senate Aging Committee Public Hearing, chaired by Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, will be broadcast live at www.nysenate.gov. The hearing will take place in New York City at the Senate Hearing Room, 250 Broadway, 19th Floor on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, Chair of the Senate Aging Committee, has called for this hearing to review senior citizens’ concerns in light of President Obama’s proposed health care reform.
Scheduled testimony will be presented by: Assembly Member Richard N. Gottfried, Chairman, Assembly Health Committee; Betsy McCaughey, Ph.D., Chairman/Founder Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths, Former Lt. Governor of New York State; Bobbie Sackman, Director of Public Policy, Council for Senior Centers and Services; Paul Malley, President, Aging with Dignity; Joseph R. Baker III, President, Medicare Rights Center; John Rother, Executive Vice President for Policy and Strategy, AARP Washington, DC; Kathy McMahon, President and CEO, Hospice and Palliative Care Association of NYS; Edward T. Mechmann, Esq., Assistant Director, Family Life/Respect Life Office, Archdiocese of New York, Representing the NYS Catholic Conference; and Barbara Meara, Chairperson, New York State Right to Life Committee.
