Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz to Join Demonstration in Favor Immigration Reform

New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) and the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization will be joining thousands of people at a prayer vigil on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 12:00 noon in front of the Castle Clinton National Monument in New York City’s Battery Park. This prayer rally has been organized by Radio Vision Cristiana, Int’l.
Senator Reverend Diaz announced: “As the Chairman of the New York State Puerto Rican / Latino Caucus and as the President of the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization, I invite every community organization and every leader from our community to unite with the thousands of extraordinary individuals and families who will attend this prayer rally to show our unwavering support for our immigrants
and their rights. I invite all to join us as we send a message to Washington, D.C. that it’s time to solve the uncertainty of so many of our sisters and brothers throughout this nation.”
Castle Garden National Monument, located on the tip of Manhattan, became America’s first immigrant receiving center in 1855 welcoming more that 8 million immigrants until it was closed in 1890.

To use public transportation to Battery Park, take the 4 or 5 train to Bowling Green Station, the R or W trains to South Ferry, or the 1 train to South Ferry. To drive, take the West Side highway or the FDR Drive to Battery Park.
