I am glad that Bill Thompson has finally joined me in demanding the resignation of New York Chancellor Joel Klein. Two years ago, to be exact – on February 8, 2007, I sent an open letter to Mayor Bloomberg calling for the immediate resignation of Chancellor Joel Klein and Deputy Mayor Dennis Walcott.
In that letter (see link: letter ) I stated the reason why: because they have been a failure to the school system and to our children. Part of their failure included a $16 million dollar no bid contract awarded to a company with a history of creating a mess in another state.
While I have been seeing Chancellor Klein’s failure for the past two years, everybody else has been ignoring it or refusing to admit it.
I am so glad that after two years, Bill Thompson has joined me, and I hope that Bill Thompson will not be the only one who will join me.
It is never too late to open our eyes and see the truth.
