Senator Thomas K. Duane Statement on New Hampshire State Senate Passage of
Same-Sex Civil Marriage Legislation
"The New Hampshire State Senate’s passage today of legislation to legalize same-sex civil marriage is yet another hurdle cleared in the fight for civil and equal rights for all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people. I urge New Hampshire Governor John Lynch to do the right thing and sign the bill into law so that New Hampshire may join the ever-growing number of states which simply allow same sex couples the fundamental right of civil marriage."
"Now all eyes turn to the New York State Senate to do the same. The momentum is here and I vow that civil marriage will become a reality in New York -- and that it will happen soon."
