MTA TO HOLD FIRST-EVER PUBLIC HEARING IN TOWN OF NEWBURGH ON MARCH 2nd

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) recently announced that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will be holding a hearing in Orange County on March 2^nd to take public comment regarding the MTA’s proposed fare increases, service cuts, and the Ravitch Commission’s proposal to initiate a mobility tax (also known as a payroll tax) on businesses.  

 “These proposals will not just affect those who live in New York City.  They will have a serious impact on families and businesses throughout Orange County,” said Senator Larkin, “ That is why I encourage everyone who has an opinion on these proposals to come out Monday night and express themselves.”

 The hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 15 Crossroads Court, Newburgh, NY.  Those who wish to testify must register beforehand.
