Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) announced today that Independent Living, Inc. will receive a $200,000 award as part of the ACCESS to Home Program administered by the Division of Housing and Community Renewal. The ACCESS to Home Program provides financial assistance to not-for-profit organizations and municipalities to make housing units accessible to moderate and low income persons with disabilities.
“With this $200,000 grant, Independent Living, Inc. will be able to make modifications to an estimated 11 homes. These modifications will enable individuals to avoid institutional care and continue to live in their residences in a comfortable and safe manner,” said Senator Larkin, “I am very pleased that Independent Living, Inc. has received this award and believe they should be commended for their efforts to reach out to those most in need.”
