Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) announced today that the New York Regional Interconnect (NYRI) has requested the Public Service Commission (PSC) withdraw its application to run a controversial high-voltage power line from the Edic Substation in Marcy to the Rock Tavern Substation in New Windsor from consideration.
“This is fantastic news,” said Senator Larkin, “NYRI’s proposal was certainly not the best choice for the Hudson Valley and I am pleased my constituents will no longer have to worry about the disruption this project would have caused to our communities and the environment.”
