Senator Larkin Thanks Constituents For Their Efforts To Stop NYRI Power Line
William J. Larkin Jr.
April 7, 2009
I would like to thank all the families, businesses, and activists who provided a united opposition to New York Regional Interconnect’s proposal to run a high-voltage power line from the Edic Substation in Marcy to the Rock Tavern Substation in New Windsor. It is my sincere belief that it was your commitment and tireless efforts that helped defeat this proposal.
By stopping the construction of this power line you have shown the substantial results that collaborative grass roots efforts can bring about. You should be very proud of your success in this endeavor.
