Buffalo, NY- New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) will be sponsoring a donation drive for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. The drive will be held on Saturday, January 16th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at 65 Court Street in Buffalo. There will also be opportunities to drop off donations at the blood drive taking place tomorrow.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti and their loved ones in New York during this time of tragedy,” stated Thompson. “My office is committed to assisting in recovery and relief efforts and in the spirit of honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s community day of service, we encourage people to come together and contribute in whatever way possible at these events to provide relief to those who need it most.”
Thompson is partnering with the American Red Cross to provide aid to the earthquake victims. At this moment, we have been told that the best way to help is by donating money. The Red Cross also has a relief site established: www.redcross.org.
