Buffalo, NY – New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties), will host a community ceremony in honor of Women’s History Month. Senator Thompson has selected ten women from his district to present awards to. The event will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society at 25 Nottingham Court in Buffalo. The event will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
This year ten women will be honored for their outstanding contributions in the areas of: Community Service, Youth and Senior Citizens Advocacy, Education, Leadership, Health and Faith Based Leadership.
The honorees are: Tamara Bland, Mary Lou Bragg, Denise Easterling, Sister Charlene Fontana, Janice Lewis, Catherine Lewis-Smith, Joy McDuffie, Tracey Mullen, Christina Pilozzi and Barbara Pfohl.
