Niagara Falls, NY- New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) will be hosting a celebration in honor of Black History Month. The event will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Doris Jones Family Resource Center at 3001 Ninth Street, Niagara Falls from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
“Black History Month is a time to celebrate the contributions of African Americans past and present. This celebration is a great way to get together and honor the accomplishments of those men and women,” stated Thompson.
The event consists of an evening of music, poetry, storytelling and more. Local artists and historians will be in attendance in commemoration of the contributions of African Americans past and present.
