Buffalo, NY – New York State Senator Antoine Thompson (D-parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) will pay tribute to the men and women who fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms that Americans enjoy.
The special Memorial Day Ceremony will be held Friday, May 28th from 12:00 noon until 1 pm at the Mahoney State Office Building. It’s located at 65 Court Street in Buffalo, N.Y.
Veterans from across Western New York are encouraged to attend this event, where Color Guard “Troop A” will perform and Father Marian Gardocki, who serves at the Buffalo V. A. Hospital will speak during the celebration.
“We should never forget those who put their lives in harms way so Americans can live freely. We owe them a great debt that can never be paid, but we can say thank you and honor them whenever possible. Without veterans America would be a much different place,” says Senator Antoine Thompson.
As a member of the senate, Thompson also sits on the Homeland Security, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee. In addition to sponsoring bills designed to help veterans get back into society following their tour of duty, he also provides support to local V.F.Ws.
