Senator Thompson Recognizes Leon Davis On His 100th Birthday

Buffalo, NY- New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties), recognizes Mr. Leon Davis and wishes him a happy 100th birthday today, February 17, 2010. Senator Thompson will be presenting Mr. Davis with a proclamation.
“It’s an honor to recognize a centurian such as Mr. Davis, he is an inspiration to all and testimony to healthy living,” stated Senator Thompson.
Mr. Davis is a native Mississippian, is the only surviving sibling of seven sisters and one brother. He had five children with his late wife Margaret; Leon Davis Jr., Marjorie (Davis) Johnson, Howard Davis, Louvenia Davis and Jeffrey Murray. Mr. Davis has nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Davis is a NY Yankees fan and still wakes up every morning at 5:00 am. When he was asked how it feels to be turning 100 years old, he said, “I’m glad to be here and I don’t have any pain in my body.” He attests his longevity to plenty of rest and still cooking his own meals.
