New Yorkers are eigible for rebates for purchasing energy-eficient appliances during president’s week, 2010 Sen. Foley
"I am pleased to announce the implementation of New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out program. The United States Department of Energy recently awarded New York State $300 million dollars, for the purpose of stimulating our economy and investing in energy efficient home appliances," Said Sen. Foley.
"I firmly believe that if we intend on righting New York’s economy, we need to focus our efforts on helping business expand its consumer pool. The best way to revive a stagnant market economy is to get consumers spending again.
"New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out, which runs from February 12th to February 21st, offers over 170,000 New Yorkers the opportunity to recycle old energy draining home appliances and purchase new, high-efficiency appliances at an affordable price by offering shoppers up to $555 in rebate checks. The $16.8 million dollars in rebate checks will provide a unique incentive for consumers to help improve their local business climate and realize long term energy savings.
"If you are interested in taking advantage of the program, rebate forms and instructions are available at www.NYApplianceSwapOut.com or through NYSERDA’s hotline (1-877-NY-SMART).
"Additional information, including information about ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances and other programs to help homeowners reduce energy costs, can be found on NYSERDA’s web site at www.GetEnergySmart.org or from NYSERDA’s consumer hotline at: 877-NY-SMART."
