Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently visited Old Mill Road Elementary School in North Merrick to thank students for participating in his annual “Extend the Holidays” toy drive.
“Extend the Holidays” is an annual toy drive Senator Fuschillo organizes for the benefit of children in Winthrop Hospital’s Pediatric Ward. The toys collected by the Old Mill Road students will be delivered to the hospital after the holiday season, so that children can experience the joys of receiving a holiday gift throughout the year.
“Children in Winthrop Hospital are going to have big smiles on their faces when they see the toys collected by the students at Old Mill Road Elementary School. It’s wonderful to see these students working to help other children who are going through tough times. They should be proud of the job they did, and I thank them for their help,” said Senator Fuschillo.
