Senate Passes Fuschillo Resolution Honoring Eagle Scout Michael Morgan of Massapequa

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

June 24, 2010

State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced that the New York State Senate recently passed a legislative resolution he sponsored honoring Massapequa resident Michael Morgan for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

“Becoming an Eagle Scout is an exceptional achievement which only a select few ever receive. Through hard work, dedication, and commitment to service, Michael has proven himself worthy of this high honor. Michael is a wonderful young man and I am pleased that his accomplishments were recognized by the entire New York State Senate,” said Senator Fuschillo.

Michael, a member of Troop 90, attained the rank of Eagle Scout after many years of hard work and completing an Eagle Scout project. For his project, Michael worked to reverse shoreline erosion caused by litter and poor drainage in the Tackapusha preserve. With the assistance of more than 40 volunteers and the South Shore Audubon Society, Michael installed 110 feet of bio-logs and plants which were spread over 330 square feet to significantly reduce erosion in the area.

With the Senate passage of the legislative resolution, Michael’s name and achievement will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.
