Senator Fuschillo Announces New York State Military Medals Are Available for Local Veterans and Their Families

With Veterans Day approaching, Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is reminding veterans and their families about the military awards offered by New York State to honor New Yorkers who have served in the armed forces.
“These medals are one way of showing respect, gratitude, and appreciation to the men and women who fought in defense of our country,” said Senator Fuschillo. “I invite veterans or their families to contact my office and learn more about obtaining these New York State military medals.”
New York State offers several military awards to veterans who currently live in New York State or who were New York State residents at the time of their military service:
- New York State Conspicuous Service Cross
- New York State Medal for Merit
- New York State Conspicuous Service Star
Eligibility for these awards is based on the applicant’s military service record. A complete list of eligibility criteria can be obtained by calling Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630 or clicking the links above.
These medals can be awarded posthumously to the family of a deceased veteran.
