New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently visited the Wantagh Library to thank staff members and library patrons for donating food as part of his veterans food drive. Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R-North Merrick) joined Senator Fuschillo in thanking the Library for participating in the program.
The Library collected several boxes full of canned food as part of the program. The food collected by the Library was donated to Long Island Cares: the Harry Chapin Food Bank for use in their veterans outreach program, which provides support for veterans and active duty military personnel and their families.
“The outpouring of support from the staff at the Wantagh Library and the Wantagh residents who donated food at the Library was tremendous. Their efforts will go a long way towards helping veterans, members of our armed forces, and their families. I thank the Library and the Wantagh community for their generosity,” said Senator Fuschillo.
