Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) was recently honored by the Nassau County Police Explorers.
The Explorers program teaches young people between the ages of 14 and 20 about law enforcement and its career opportunities, along with the importance of making ethical choices and becoming responsible and caring adults. In addition, the program helps Explorers develop their leadership skills and develop greater self-esteem. Explorers also perform a number of different service projects throughout the community.
Senator Fuschillo received the Theodore Roosevelt Award, which is presented to individuals who have demonstrated their dedication to the youth of the explorers program and given of themselves selflessly for the benefit of the youth and citizenry of this country. Senator Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) was also chosen as a recipient of the award.
