Drop Off Old Cell Phones on October 16th at Bellmore Train Station
New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that he will be sponsoring a cell phone donation program to benefit troops serving overseas.
The cell phone drop-off program will be held on Saturday, October 16th from 9:30 am to 12 pm at the Bellmore Train Station (Parking lot B4, just west of Centre Avenue). Residents can simply drive up, drop off their old cell phones, and drive away. All hand-held cell phones will be accepted, even if they are not working.
All phones collected through the program will be sent to ReCellular, which will pay a donation to the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program for each donated phone. The proceeds raised will be used to purchase calling cards for members of the armed forces serving overseas to use to call their loved ones back home.
“This program is a great way for residents to safely dispose of their old cell phones while also supporting the men and women of our armed forces who are serving overseas. I encourage anyone who has an old, unwanted cell phone to drop it off on October 16th and help us help those who serve our country,” said Senator Fuschillo.
For more information about the program, please call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
