SYRACUSE, N.Y.— State Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) is sponsoring a special seminar to help homeowners and renters save money on energy costs.
“Energy costs are a big concern in Upstate New York,” said Senator Valesky. This event will provide people with information about how to reduce their bills when they need it.”
Representatives from local utility companies will present cost saving tips on reducing energy, heat, and hot water bills. Also, representatives will detail the specific charges listed on utility bills, and show participants where they might be able to decrease their usage. For example, replacing five lights with Energy Star lightbulbs will save $9 per month.
The event will take place on Aug. 10 at People’s A.M.E. Zion Church on 2306 S. Salina Street in Syracuse. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Please RSVP by calling 315-478-8745 or by e-mailing valesky@senate.state.ny.us .
