Syracuse, N.Y. — Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) has been named to the New York Farm Bureau’s Circle of Friends.

“New York’s farms are an integral part of our Upstate economy,” said Senator Valesky. “Agriculture is New York’s largest industry; we must continue to ensure its success and vitality through a strong legislative agenda that will encourage it to grow.”

Valesky has sponsored and passed legislation securing property tax credits, expanding opportunities for locally made products, and lowering energy costs for local farms and agriculture, ensuring their continued success.

Each year the New York State Farm Bureau announces the legislators who, through their voting record and sponsorship of legislation, have supported New York’s agricultural business. The New York Farm Bureau is the state’s largest trade organization and works to support New York agriculture.

"Senator Valesky was named to our Circle of Friends list this year because of his strong support of New York’s family farms. Senator Valesky understands the importance of the farming community and how it impacts the economy and future of New York State," said Dean Norton, President of New York Farm Bureau.

32 legislators from the New York State Senate were nominated to the Farm Bureau’s circle of friends.
