“My thoughts and prayers are with the injured passengers of this morning’s crash on the Andrew J. Barberi ferryboat.  My heart is with them and their loved ones as they recover.  I want to thank the members of the FDNY, NYPD, Coast Guard, and OEM, as well as the crew of the Staten Island Ferry for their quick and professional response, preventing potentially life-threatening injuries.  I anxiously await the results of the investigation of the root cause of today’s incident so that we can ensure that this never happens again.”
