NYS Senator Eric Adams to Host 4th Homeland Security Business Roundtable to Develop Strategies to Combat Terrorism and Promote Other Homeland Security Issues
Roundtable to Focus on Commercial Property on Matters of Homeland Security
Senator Adams, Chair of the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, joined by private sector and government leaders, will discuss enhanced interaction and partnership development on matters of homeland security. Topics at this Roundtable will focus on issues surrounding commercial property and homeland security, including disaster preparation for businesses such as office buildings and malls.
Senator Adams supports and sponsors events designed to increase awareness of and participation in Homeland Security by all groups in both sectors of our economy: private and public.
Senator Adams states: “Every day we enter commercial buildings: the apartment complexes in which we live, the offices in which we work, and the restaurants and resorts in which we relax. How prepared are these facilities for a disaster? What role do they play in responding to a crisis? What steps can they take to enhance the speed with which their communities recover? Intelligent, insightful answers to these questions are vital for effective homeland security. I am honored to be speaking with representatives of this industry to identify and appreciate their strategies for preparation, response, and recovery.”
