NYS Senator Eric Adams Sponsors a March 25th Women’s History Month Event To Honor Outstanding Women In Senate District #20
NYS Senator Eric Adams will sponsor a Women’s History Month celebration on March 26, 6:00 PM, at Kings County Hospital T-Building Auditorium, 451 Clarkson Avenue at New York Avenue. The event will honor the achievements of outstanding women in Senate District #20. Please note: Senator Adams will also be awarding Black History Month honorees, because the event in February was postponed due to inclement weather.
Senator Adams’ statement:
“American women are sometimes overlooked in traditional approaches to U.S. history, and Women’s History Month programs are an attempt to address this negligence. Our event extols women as valuable and influential forces in Senate District #20, and it establishes the crucial connection between a knowledge of historical women and the exertion by women of a positive influence in our own era. We draw courage, vigor, inspiration, and enlightenment from those who came before us as well as from these extraordinary, dynamic women toiling in our District today. They are all an indispensable part of our ‘herstory’, and a balanced and inclusive ‘herstory’ affirms that women have always been consequential in American culture and society.”
