NYS Senator Eric Adams unites with the Korean American Business Association of Brooklyn, a commerce group that went door to door to collect nearly $8,000 from Korean-Americans in Brooklyn in support of Haitians devastated by the earthquake. The Association will present its checks and 10 boxes of clothing to Haitian relief agencies.
Senator Adams states: “Americans have repeatedly extended their deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones and friends in Haiti’s horrific earthquake, and our nation has pledged to do everything it can, utilize every resource available, to assist Haiti to recover and rebuild.
“Today I am joined by leaders of the Korean American Business Association of Brooklyn in a show of solidarity with the Haitian people. Brooklyn’s Korean American community today affirms that we are all one people, one human family. By amassing nearly $8,000 in cash and an additional $5,000 of clothing through door-to-door solicitations, the Korean American community proclaims that it will assist its brothers and sisters in Haiti with the power of its financial resources.
“"It is in time of tragedy that the nobility and generosity of the human spirit can truly shine through. We gather today to present checks and clothing for Haitian relief.
