New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) urged local residents today to donate blood during the twentieth anniversary of the New York Hospital Queens and the Deepdale Gardens Community Council’s annual community blood drive. The blood drive will take place this Sunday August 8, from 7:30 am to 4 pm at the Samuel Field YM & YWHA located at 58-20 Little Neck Parkway in Little Neck.
“The partnership between New York Hospital Queens and the Deepdale Gardens Community Council has been strong over the past twenty years,” Padavan said. “This annual community blood drive is an example of giving back and volunteering on behalf of the entire Queens community. I urge everyone who can to head down to the Samuel Field Y this Sunday and donate the gift of life by giving blood.”
All blood donors must be at least 17 or older and weigh more than 110 pounds. Donors should bring photo identification, provide their social security number and eat within three hours prior to donating blood.
