Senator George Maziarz will host a free Child Safety Day on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the North Tonawanda City Hall, located at 216 Payne Avenue. The event runs from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
“I invite any family to stop by our event and learn about ways to keep kids safe,” Senator Maziarz said. “Kids are back in school now, and it’s an appropriate time to be thinking about putting their safety first.”
Child Safety Day will feature Child ID kits and fingerprinting, car seat safety checks, the K-9 unit from the North Tonawanda Police Department, a fire truck and fire safety robot from Frontier Volunteer Fire Company, and child safety brochures and information. Entertainment will be on hand too, including Do-Do the Clown, a bounce house, and refreshments.
Also on hand that morning, Upstate New York Transplant Services will be hosting a blood drive from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Individuals looking to donate blood can call 512-7940, or walk-ins are welcome.
