Senator George Maziarz will host a free Child Safety Day on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his district office, located at 2578 Niagara Falls Boulevard (the “Boulder Commons” plaza) in the Town of Wheatfield. The event runs from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
“I invite any family to stop by my office and learn about ways to keep kids safe,” Senator Maziarz said. “This is always a fun event, and with summer hopefully around the corner, it’s a good time to put safety first.”
Child Safety Day will feature Child ID kits and fingerprinting, car seat safety checks, the K-9 unit from the North Tonawanda Police Department, the mounted patrol from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department, a fire truck and fire safety robot from Frontier Volunteer Fire Company, and child safety brochures and information. Entertainment will be on hand too, including Do-Do the Clown, a bounce house, and refreshments.
Also on hand that morning, Upstate New York Transplant Services will be hosting a blood drive from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Individuals looking to donate blood can call 512-7940, or walk-ins are welcome.
