The town of Irondequoit celebrated its annual National Night Out event on August 4th. Adults and children of all ages got an up-close look at public safety as fire, police and ambulance services were all on hand. The rally, hosted by the Irondequoit Crime Prevention Coalition and Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association in cooperation with the Irondequoit Police Department, is an annual event where neighborhoods across the country demonstrate their unity against crime. The National Night Out aims to increase crime prevention awareness, generate support for local anticrime programs and strengthen police-community relationships. Thank you to all who attended Irondequoit's National Night Out and demonstrated their commitment to help keep Irondequoit a safe community to live in.
