Senator Klein and M.S. 101 Student Adam Israfil present a $600 donation for Haiti victims
NEW YORK- Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) donated $300 dollars for Haiti relief efforts matching 12-year-old Adam Israfil’s donation. Adam is a 7th grader at M.S. 101 Edward R Byrne. Dressed in his Boy Scout Uniform (Troop 162 in the Bronx), Adam went door to door in his Throgs Neck Neighborhood with a jar marked “Coins for Haiti.” He surpassed his initial goal of $100 and ended up raising $298.77. The Senator presented his matching donation and a certificate to Adam at Edward Byrne School on January 21st.
