Senator Klein Opens Office for Bronx Homeowners to Register to Protect Themselves from Unscrupulous Realtors
A longtime advocate for protecting homeowners from unscrupulous real estate brokers, State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) signed up Bronx homeowners in Community Boards 10, 11 and 12 for the renewed non-solicitation, cease-and-desist rule at his office on Friday. A representative from the NYS Department of State was on hand to answer questions and provide information. The renewed list will be formally submitted on Thursday, July 15th, so homeowners who want to be on the list to defend themselves against unwanted solicitation from realtors must sign up before then. Homeowners may also sign up online at http://www.dos.state.ny.us/lcns/cdform.asp.
“In recent weeks, my office heard from three constituents who received these deceptive notices from the same company. Hard-working Bronx residents deserve the full protection of state law from unscrupulous and overzealous real estate agents. I encourage everyone to make sure they are registered for this renewed cease and desist order,” said State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester).
