State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Jeffrey D. Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) welcomed 120 students from P.S. 81 Robert J. Christen School in Albany on Tuesday for the school’s annual field trip to the Capital. The students received a tour of the Capitol building and the Corning Tower at Empire State Plaza and were then treated to a pizza party sponsored by Senator Klein.
Earlier this year, Klein presented a $45,000 grant to P.S. 81 at its annual Parent Show. The money will be used to expand the school's social studies and science literature collections so that students will have more trade book reading and learning options in addition to their textbooks.
