Senator Sampson Holds Successful "Homeowners' Assistance and Financial Wellness Seminar"

Brooklyn, New York: Majority Conference Leader Senator John L. Sampson (D-19th SD) recently held a very successful “Homeowners’ Assistance and Financial Wellness Seminar”at Holy Family Church in the Canarsie Section of his district. Attended by over 300 people the 5-hour long event provided participants with information relating to foreclosure(s) and homeowners assistance, first-time homebuyer tips, how to rebuild credit and money management as well as credit counseling and banking issues.

“This seminar is my way of providing the residents of my district with the kinds of information and contacts that will help them make educated and informed decisions on important matters as buying a home for the first time. I want to thank all of the providers who gave of their time and expertise to make sure that this seminar was a success,” Senator Sampson said.

Providers and presenters were: CAMBA, CAMBA Legal Services, CHANGER, INC, Chase Bank, Erasmus Neighborhood Federation, Flatbush Development Corporation, Holy Family Church, Mutual of America, Neighborhood Economic Development Advocacy Project, NHS of East Flatbush, NYC DCA Office of Financial Empowerment, New York Life Insurance, Parodneck Foundation, Pratt Area Community Council, South Brooklyn Legal Services and Wells Fargo.

“These are the kinds of things that we do to strengthen and build our community. It is about the charge that the senator has given us – go out and bring services and information to all the residents of the 19th District. That’s what we will continue to do,” said Nathan Bradley, Deputy Chief of Staff at Senator Sampson’s District Office.
