Serrano Reminds New Yorkers to Continue Support in Haiti
José M. Serrano
January 22, 2010
In response to the recent aftershocks in Haiti, Sen. José M. Serrano is urging New Yorkers to continue their much-needed support throughout the aftermath of this crisis.
“The recent earthquake, and subsequent aftershocks have completely devastated Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince. The outpouring of support from New Yorkers has been a testament to the awareness and compassion of the people of this state. However, the recovery effort will be arduous and ongoing, and it is important to make a long-term commitment to assist the people of Haiti.
"Although we are experiencing difficult fiscal times here at home, I encourage all New Yorkers to continue their generosity, and to donate what they can to their relief organization of choice.”
