Senator Jose Peralta Announces World Cup Day 2010 Queens

As part of the Queens 2010World Cup celebration, Senator Jose Peralta has compiled a list of establishments that will be airing the games in the 13th Senatorial District. Hundreds of bars and restaurants will be celebrating one of the world’s most watched sporting events.
Peralta said “The 13th Senatorial District has proudly been called the United Nations of Senate Districts because it encompasses so many different cultures and nationalities, so there is no better place to watch 32 nations compete for the World Cup than Queens. If people are looking for a true World Cup experience come to Queens and visit the many restaurants and stores that celebrate our diversity.”
The FIFA World Cup, is an international association football competition contested by the men's national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the sport's global governing body. The championship has been awarded every four years since the first tournament in 1930.
32 teams will compete for the title in South Africa from June 11 – July 11th The World Cup is the most widely-viewed sporting event in the world, where an estimated 715.1 million people watched the final match of the 2006 World Cup held in Germany.
