Queens, NY, June 23, 2010 -- NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr.,
will bring his once-a-month series of free eye exams by Pearle Vision's Ozone Park
staff to the Maspeth Self-Help Senior Center, 69-61 Grand Avenue, Maspeth, 718-429-3636, on Friday, June 25, from 10 AM – 11 AM.
The Maspeth Self-Help seniors are urged to take advantage of getting free,
convenient vision screenings. Pearle Vision's professional staff include
optometrist Dr. Jeanette Cooper, optician Bill Roussis, and Pearle Vision-Ozone Park
general manager Joanna Tonchuck. They will use an auto refractor to determine range
of vision/prescription and a CT machine will be available to detect warning signs
of glaucoma. Pearle Vision’s staff will also clean and adjust eyewear, give out
goody bags containing lens cleaners, cloths and cases for glasses, and provide
one pass with each screening result to have a free, comprehensive eye exam done
at Pearle Vision's Ozone Park location, 102-22 Atlantic Avenue. Pearle's professionals
will also present a 20-minute lecture and give out literature on the symptoms of
chronic dry eyes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic eye problems, to be followed by a Q&A with attendees.
For dates/locations of additional Pearle Vision free vision screenings coming
to other senior centers around his district, call Addabbo's Howard Beach
district office in July at 718-738-1111.
