Senator Lavalle Celebrates 80th Anniversary of Sound Beach Fire Department

Senator Kenneth P. LaValle joined state, federal, and local officials in celebrating the Sound Beach Fire Department’s 80^th Anniversary.  The department began serving the community on the Fourth of July 1930.  The milestone anniversary was observed on July 9^th with a march down New York Avenue that ended at the fire house on Sound Beach Blvd.  Neighboring fire districts, antique cars, farm equipment and fire trucks, and floats were among the highlights enjoyed by local residents who lined the streets in support of their local firefighters.
