Senator Lavalle Celebrates Boys Scouts of America’s 100th Year

Senator Ken LaValle was honored to address the crowd that gathered for the Boy Scouts of America’s historic broadcast of the Centennial Show at the Suffolk County Council’s celebratory “Shining Light Across America.”  The event took place at the LaValle Stadium at Stony Brook University and marked the first time in history that the entire Scouting community had the opportunity to come together in celebration of Scouting’s rich heritage.  Hundreds of “Shining Light” events took place across the country, while the nationwide broadcast of the Centennial Celebration Show was aired live from Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia via nationwide satellite and worldwide webcast.

“The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to the development of character and leadership in the youth of this country,” said Senator LaValle.  “It is with great pleasure that I support our local Scouting community and encourage young members to remain forever proud of their scouting values.”
