Senator Kenneth P. LaValle (4th from left) joined in a recent ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the exterior renovation and site work at the Roe House in the Village of Port Jefferson. The event was attended by state and local elected officials as well as community members who have been involved in years of restoration, remediation, and repairs on the historic 18th-century house. Senator LaValle was instrumental in securing state funding to help with the vision for the house, which is to have it become a museum with exhibits pertaining to the patriots who spied for General George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
