"As we pause to reflect on the incredible legacy that Rev. King left us, we are reminded of the tremendous personal sacrifice that he made for all African Americans. Today I ask everyone to commemorate Dr. King by helping others."

We need to act in service now when everything in our community seems to be breaking, families falling apart at the seams, Haitian victims in starvation, This is a sign that we must act now."

"Dr. King exemplified the difference one person can make on the world. As we remember him and his legacy, I believe we must reexamine his dream and consider what each of us can do to move our communities and our neighbors across the sea in Haiti to its realization."
