SENATOR KEVIN PARKER HONORS THE LIFE OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
"As we pause to reflect on the incredible legacy that Rev. King left us, we are reminded of the tremendous personal sacrifice that he made for all African Americans. Today I ask everyone to commemorate Dr. King by helping others."
" We are at a time now where we are experiencing events from the rise of youth violence in our communities to the recent Haiti tragedy. We need to act in service now when everything in our community seems to be breaking, families falling apart at the seams, Haitian victims in starvation, This is a sign that we must act now."
"Dr. King exemplified the difference one person can make on the world. As we remember him and his legacy, I believe we must reexamine his dream and consider what each of us can do to move our communities and our neighbors across the sea in Haiti to its realization."
